Possible listing on dmoz.org

Google Directory is powered my dmoz, a non-profit organizations who's objective is making the right site easy to find. It's also a perfect place to advertise a clan. However, dmoz is more likely to accept our clan into its directory if we have our OWN DOMAIN NAME. This will allow them to view us much more seriously and PROFESSIONALLY. And I'm talking about a domain name not only for the forums but for the main site, as our main site looks much more sleek and inviting to new members than our forums do. Should this be done, it needs to be done quickly so we have a chance of being listed in Google's Directory before their new version comes out.

I was trying to get a new address yesterday...But yea, I wish to get one soon.

How do we get our site into this?

Submitting our address to dmoz.org is the only thing we have to do. Google Directory, as well as popular search engines like Yahoo and Netscape get their listings from dmoz. They have a "suggest a site" link, which will bring you to a carefully crafted set of instructions which we will have to follow step-by-step. The site itself does not get much traffic, but Google Directory definitely does.

No, we have not as of yet decided our future URL

... um? i dont understand the entire thing about google directory... but i was at my grandmother's house and i didnt know the exact name of the clan site... so i went to goole... and the very first thing that popped up was... you guessed... this.

so i really dont understand what you mean keevan... please explain further because we are already on the google listings.

i think hes talkin advertising rather than a search oxy..

He's suggesting that when we get a custom URL that we advertise on Dmoz.org.
Dmoz is Google's database, and all websites from any search come form there.

For the reason u said Oxy, I don't think we should be on any "paid" domain address; it is just factually stupid!

If you go to directory.google.com you'll see where I'm going with this. Google Directory is a searchable database where you can to find websites that suits your needs. Not everything in Google Directory is also part of google's search engine or vice versa. They are not the same. I hope that it will not only increase traffic, even slightly, but also encourage our domain name.

www.relunited.com is so much better than what we have now. I don't even want to write it out.

I honestly can't get the new URL up until after I get a router...so expect it to be early July at the earliest, but it is coming.

Router and clan on PSN is #1 priority.
