Changes

When... or if this forum ever gets really active again, there are quite a few changes I would like to see.

Forum setup

• Hierarchy

I'm a big fan of it. We do not want this forum to turn into a flaming and trolling fest, do we? Therefore I suggest a sticky thread in the News & Announcement forum showing every administrator/moderator and their respective areas. I will gladly be a moderator in the off-topic section, as I hardly play any games. Also, another sticky thread should be posted in the News & Announcements forum including every single rule making it very clear what is allowed and what is not.

• Forum titles

REL VIP? What? Who exactly deserves that title? I’m still for that snazzy little feature which is that you get your titles according to your post count. Example:
0-1 posts: I’m new, talk to me!
2-99 posts: Newbie
100-499 posts: Rookie
500-2499 posts: RELgular
2500-4999 posts: RELite
5000-10000 posts: REL veteran
10000+ posts: RELegend

• Moderators

- Should be serious, and try to stay as neutral as possible.
- Should have a decent language, preferably with punctuation etc.
- Should be able to do everything a regular member can, as well as:

+ Move threads from within their are of power to other parts of the forum, and; remove, split, merge, lock and unlock topics within their area of power.
+ Post sticky threads within their area of power as well as in the News & Announcements forum.

There should be at least one moderator per section excluding administrators, preferably two or more in very busy sections of the forum. It would also be great if these moderators were from different time zones (one moderator from Europe and the other from the US, for instance).

Profiles

There are only a few minor changes I’d like to see here, remove the pet-thingy (really, was there ever need for a pet?) and remove the comment feature and rather implement something similar to the Facebook wall feature; like a PM, just public for everyone else (at least members of the forums). Just one thing I noticed, why isn’t “post count [percentage of forum’s post count / posts per day]” placed under statistics?



Err... I shall add more as I come think of more to change.

the post ranks are there, just not applied to anyone as of yet because well, the activity isn't there yet; but once activity picks up, Ill be making them Auto, according to posts.

As far as Hierarchy goes, I believe a mod is a mod and should be able to moderate all forums, even if they don't do 1 section as much as another.
All mods + Admins are able to do/see what members can do/see, except they can also moderate, thats in all forums, as well as view all forums (Except the improvement commitee & admin room) Their teams can see those rooms.

Pet things were just a bit of fun, if you'd rather we can vote and move it to just the profile, rather than the post profile as well?
We should see all those profile changes most likely by weekend out, we just have to change 1 setting, and I will activate the profile messages; there's no warning bout them available yet

I believe it would be much more efficient if moderators had their own section(s) to moderate. It's a way of making sure that every section will be moderated, and not only a few.
